Goenchi Mati

Goenchi Mati is a Konkani phrase that means Goa’s land, or Goa’s earth.

 

Set up in 2014, the Goenchi Mati Movement has been advocating a set of reforms to mining – based on twin principles of custodianship of the environment and intergenerational equity – to tackle colossal damage caused by rampant corruption and human greed.

 

Process & Concept :  This project was done while working with Fisheye Design, New Delhi. The Client wanted an identity that was bold, powerful and simple. The logo should identify to a vast number of people, including the local people of Goa, Government and  Mining Officials and the general public.

The Goenchi Mati Logo uses the mining tool, landscape of the hills and the basic form of a triangle which constitutes the logo form.

 

The logo type is bold, simple and easy to read.

 

The Goenchi Mati logo positions it as a fearless and bold initiative, to give back to people what is rightly theirs.
