Who is Victoria
‘Utopian Cities Programmed Societies’ is a project that delve into the cybernetics of Eastern European nations through art and design interventions. Victoria in the Brasov region of Romania was taken as a starting point by thinking about unfinished Utopian Cities, reinvestigating them and think about their possible revival.

Within this larger project, ‘Who is Victoria’ aims to understand a utopian city by taking into account different perspectives of local, historical, official and first impressions of Victoria. By documenting these different perspectives, we found new ways of understanding what creates the identity of a utopian city like Victoria.

Our research aimed to understand what people associatie with the city. We collected hand drawn maps and interviewed citizens, children, retired workers, educators, administrative members, visitors, tourists amongst others.

To represent the different layers and perspectives there are to understanding a city, we decided to create a zine using transparent paper to showcase the over lapping layers and complexities in understanding an environment and community. This zine was the exhibition along with other projects at Fabrica de Pensule in Cluj, Romania.
